Delaware County mostly consists of small towns and rural villages, but that doesn't mean we don't know how to throw a great party! Summertime is packed with events for everyone from tots to grown-ups, and the best part is that most take place outdoors, taking advantage of the glorious summer season in these beautiful mountains. Whether you're into music, agriculture, food or art, you'll find a great reason to visit the area for unforgettable summer fun.

Kidstock Music Festival

1st annual Kidstock Music Festival featuring performances by Esquela Jr., Uncle Rock and Miss Pam West as well as a kids' craft tent, face painting, balloon twisting, ice cream truck and bounce house. $10/child (under 18) or $20/vehicle.

A week-long carnival with live music, fireworks, carnival rides, vendors, and much more. Field Days are held each year in the days surrounding Independence Day.

Stagecoach Run Art Festival

Explore the backroads of Delaware County and see art at the 21st annual Stagecoach Art Festival. Artists will be opening their homes, studios & galleries to the public along the route of the Old Stagecoach Road. All artists will be available to meet and discuss their work. Please look for the yellow numbered signs along the route marking each stop. Free admission.

Independence Day Celebration

Celebrate the Fourth at Hanford Mills Museum’s annual Independence Day Celebration with old-fashioned fun such as two frog jumping contests, a fishing derby on the Mill Pond, tug o’ war, sack races, ice cream making. Visitors also can tour the historic mill, watch demonstrations and more. Admission: $9/adults and teens, $7/senior citizens and AAA members, $4.50/military, free/museum members and children 12 and under.

The studios are as varied as the artists themselves; sculptors, painters, printers, woodworkers and photographers all work in unique spaces that stimulate the creative process. An outdoor event with a picnic from 7-8pm and a concert and dance at 8pm. Los TexManiacs performs with a highly energetic live show incorporating elements of rock & roll, jazz, polka, waltz and Western swing while honoring the roots of conjunto tejano. $16/picnic dinner, $11/concert and dance under 19, $23/concert and dance WKC member, $26/concert and dance non-members.

Two summer evenings celebrating the talents of youth and William Shakespeare! Each begins at 6 PM with an indoor performance by the Introduction to Acting group, followed by an outdoor picnic (BYO or buy) and a fully staged production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream by the Young People’s Theater Arts Workshops. Tickets: $12/adults, $5/children 2-11, free/under 2.

Delaware County Fair

Now in its 131st year. the Delaware County fair is one of the largest agricultural fairs in New York State. Up to 80,000 people flock to experience this six-day spectacular each year. There are cows, pigs and other livestock, demonstrations, vendors, exhibits, carnival rides, food and so much more. It's the can't-miss event of the summer. Tickets: $8/day pass, $18/all days, Free/12 and under (doesn't include rides or grandstand events). Free parking.

The Great Catskill Mountain BBQ Fest

This BBQ festival provides a professional competition with a designated a "State Championship", providing the backdrop for an all-day event that also includes an amateur BBQ competition, The Fire Company Throw-Down (local volunteer fire companies BBQ for bragging rights), live music, a craft beer tent, vendors galore, kids' activities, and all things associated with outdoor food, cooking, entertainment and lots of people who love great BBQ!

34th Annual Antique Engine Jamboree & Powerfest

The jamboree celebrates the ingenuity of the past, present, and future and features
antique tractors, Model A Fords, outboard motors, Doodlebugs, hit and miss engines, model steam engines, and water-cooled and air-cooled gas engines. Food trucks and offer lunch and snack items.
