Our state’s unique climate and forestry make it naturally perfect for maple syrup production. As a result, there are hundreds of maple syrup producers in our state making some of the finest maple products you will find anywhere.
Maple sugar is made by removing water from the sap to concentrate the natural sugars and nutrients made by the tree. It is an all-natural sweetener that contains hundreds of flavor components. Out of all other sweeteners, maple syrup has the most nutritional value. Compared to white sugar, brown sugar or corn syrup, maple syrup has 5-20 times more minerals and vitamins such as zinc, magnesium, calcium and B2 – for roughly the same amount calories. 100% natural and unrefined, maple syrup retains the inherent nutritional value of the sap obtained from the maple tree.
