Winter
For some, this is one season that lasts way to long. For others every day should be a snow day! There is something wonderful about the winter wonderland setting in the mountains. Snowshoe hiking yields the unexpected benefit of clearly seeing where all the animals go with their tracks in the snow. Kids love the joy of sledding, not to mention the hot chocolate afterwards. While most of the fun stays on the mountains and trails 
with skiing and snowmobiling, main streets offer options from creative writing workshops to gallery openings for those of you without the need for speed.
Winter usually has a strong finish up in the mountains. Most of our ridges are over 2000 feet above sea level with some topping out near 3500 feet. So even if there's no precipitation down in the metropolitan area - make sure you call and find out how things are accumulating up here.
