Summer
It never lasts long enough but we love every minute of it. Summer shows off our rural, agrarian, country, hillbilly slice of life in so many different ways. It's a truly authentic experience to stop by a pancake breakfast at the local firehall, stroll a main street festival, ride the old fashioned train, try your hand at milking a goat, checking out the county fair, and getting invited to a potluck dinner.
There is a lot to do from biking, horseback riding, golf, tennis, to kayaking. There are antique stores, galleries and flea markets to stroll through. there are back roads to explore with hidden treasure finds all along the way. There are books to read in the shade. There are naps to take on the hammock. There are weddings and graduations to attend. Try your hand at photography. Learn about canning and preserving the harvest.
We know there are glitzier places with sandy beaches and really expensive drinks that are trying to lure you their way. But opt out for a relaxation vacation where you can do just what you want - even if that means nothing at all.
