Fall
This is one season that just is not long enough. For us peak foliage season starts the middle of September and goes until the middle of October. It's a great time for campfires and smores, and hiking and long bike ride - maybe even on our Catskill Scenic Rail Trail. The first week of October we celebrate our neighbor The Catskill Park with ten days of guided hikes and outdoor experiences called The Lark in the Park. Check out their website here.
There are harvest festivals every which way you turn as the agricultural bounty of the country gets ready to last us through the winter. It's time to stock the freezer full with pasture raised meats and the shelves with local honey and preserves. Getting an early start on holiday shopping is great to do in the country. We have wonderful artisans whose creativity is inspired by all this beauty.
There is all the rush to do one more mountain biking run at Plattekill Ski center, one more amazing hike or kayak on the Cannonsville Reservoir. One more relaxing getaway from the stress of the city and suburbs before the holiday seasons kicks in. You deserve it!
