catskill vacations

We've separate the county into an eastern and western half to make the drives easy to do in a half day. There are basic trails, and coming soon, seasonal and topical trails to choose from.

    DRIVING TRAILS
Driving the beautiful roads in the western Catskills is often a breathtaking thing. But make sure you have a good county road map - call the Delaware County Chamber Monday through Friday at 607-746-2281 to have one mailed to you.

While not for motorized vehicles, the Catskill Scenic Trail is our favorite. Try any part of the over twenty miles, almost flat rail trail that runs from Bloomville to Roxbury. Walk, bike, ride your horse, cross country ski, or snowshoe. Visit their website at www.catskillscenictrail.org.

Ins and Outs and Ups and Downs: This trail takes you around the eastern portion of the county and features tons of reasons to get out of the car and stretch your legs. Download the trail here.
Reservoir Ramble: This trail takes you around the western portion of the county and the amazing reservoirs and tributaries of the Delaware River. The river valleys offer spectacular vistas and there are great old fashioned stores and shops tucked in corners everywhere. Download the trail here.

This part of the Catskill Region offers the best fly fishing east of the Mississippi River. So bring your pole and pick up a new fly at one of our great outfitters and you're set to cast the rest of the day away!

Farm Tour Sundays: Here is a trail that lets see the beautiful working landscape that defines Delaware County. These farms are in the eastern half of the county, and are a great way to stock up the fridge. Remember to bring a cooler and some ice to store meats and dairy during the ride. Download the drive directions here.
